I am a Ph.D. Student in the Spanish and Portuguese Department. My dissertation studies the role of pseudonyms in the regulation and creation of gendered social practices in nineteenth-century Latin America. Being a Writing Fellow has been a great learning and teaching opportunity. The one on one consultations allow me to learn from other student’s writing strategies, disciplines, and also improves my own writing process. The consultations are a space where colleagues not only help each other with their texts but also develop a different relationship to their work. My favorite aspect of being a writing fellow is helping my colleagues recognize their own strengths as writers.
