I’m a sixth year in the English PhD program with a certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies. My dissertation focuses on 19th century women’s writing about domestic space, investigating how depictions of gender, race, and architectural space intersect to produce various ways of dwelling and being at home. I see writing as a collaborative practice, and love working with other writers to develop their confidence and clarify their ideas. At the Writing Place my goal is to help demystify the writing process, approaching writing as a skill that anyone can practice and improve.
