My name is Melissa Manus and I am a third year PhD Candidate in Biological Anthropology. I apply ecological and evolutionary theory to study how the social environment shapes the development of the infant skin microbiome. My interdisciplinary research approach lends itself to working with graduate students from different departments at Northwestern. My favorite part of being a Graduate Writing Fellow is getting to know other graduate students, and their research, as we work on their essays, theses, CVs, and job applications. I also love working with other science-minded students to improve their writing and science communication skills.
