Fellow – Nicola Mccafferty

Nicola McCafferty is a PhD Candidate in the Screen Cultures program, and her work uses media representations of nonhuman women (think aliens, robots, and mannequins) to interrogate the parameters of the ‘human’ as a category. As someone whose research extends across multiple disciplines, she values how the Graduate Writing Place allows her to read the work of fellow graduate students coming from a wide range of fields and backgrounds. In addition to emphasizing the importance of viewing writing as a thinking process, Nicola is excited to embrace the more collaborative aspects of writing as a Graduate Writing Fellow. She looks forward to becoming more confident writers together.
