I am a fifth year PhD candidate in the department of anthropology, with a specific focus in archaeology. My dissertation project investigates local food strategies in Northern Peru during the periods of Inka and Spanish colonialism. I situate my research within current work on food security and food sovereignty, and am specifically interested in how archaeology can be used to contribute to food justice movements in the present. Before starting at Northwestern, I completed a BA in anthropology and communications at McGill University, an MA in anthropology at McMaster University, and worked in communications.
